Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, returned to Nigeria on Friday evening after spending two weeks abroad.
Fubara touched down at the international wing of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa where he was quietly received by a small group of aides.
A viral video shows the Governor being ushered into a waiting SUV, which promptly departed the airport.
While Fubara was known to be in Germany during part of his trip, there were unconfirmed rumours he held a private meeting with President Bola Tinubu in London, United Kingdom.
His return comes at a time of heightened political uncertainty in Rivers State.
