Four Nigerians K!lled After Being Lured to F!ght for Russia in Ukraine, Report Reveals

An investigative report has revealed that at least four Nigerians, recruited under false pretences to fight for Russia in Ukraine, have been killed.

According to an exclusive by Daily Nigerian, the deceased are Adam Anas, Akinlawon Tunde Quyuum, Abugu Stanley Onyeka, and Balogun Ridwan Adisa. They were allegedly promised security jobs but were conscripted and sent to the front lines after roughly three weeks of training.

Anas, Quyuum, Onyeka, and a fourth individual who survived, Abubakar Adamu, reportedly travelled together in November 2025. Adisa was recruited earlier. The Nigerians died on separate dates between December 2025 and January 2026.

Sources indicate that the families of the slain men were not notified by Russian officials. Instead, the news of their deaths reportedly circulated in a private WhatsApp group used by African mercenaries in the conflict. A relative of one victim confirmed they learned of the death from a colleague of the deceased, not through any formal channel.

The report further states that the men were recruited by a Nigerian agent named Emiola Muhammad and were initially issued tourist visas before being dispatched to the war zone.
