The new petrol pump price set by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has been rejected by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
According to NNPC, fuel was expected to cost between N480 and N570 per litre at outlets all around the nation.
The pricing change, according to NNPC Ltd. Chief Corporate Communications Officer Garba Deen Muhammad, was designed to reflect “market realities.”
Comrade Joe Ajaero, President of the NLC, responded to the increase by saying they would not tolerate the increase in petrol prices. The federal government, he said, cannot unilaterally raise fuel prices.
