Elon Musk has achieved a new financial milestone, becoming the first person ever to amass a fortune exceeding $800 billion. This surge follows the acquisition of his artificial intelligence company, xAI, by his aerospace firm, SpaceX.
According to Forbes, the transaction values the newly combined entity at $1.25 trillion. The deal added an estimated $84 billion to Musk’s wealth, propelling his net worth to a record $852 billion.
Prior to the merger, Musk owned roughly 42% of SpaceX and 49% of xAI. Post-acquisition, his estimated 43% stake in the combined SpaceX-xAI is valued at approximately $542 billion, now representing his single largest asset.
He also maintains a 12% share in Tesla, along with stock options in the electric vehicle manufacturer, further cementing his position as the world’s wealthiest individual.
This achievement extends Musk’s lead over the world’s second-richest person, Google co-founder Larry Page, by nearly $580 billion. The unprecedented valuation edges Musk closer to potentially becoming the first trillionaire in history.
