Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor, has paid a visit to the families of people that were killed during the presidential election that was held on Saturday, 25th of February, 2023.
It was noted that the general election in the state took the lives of two people, a 33-year man and 43-year woman.
The governor revealed this on his Twitter handle on Monday, adding that the police were already investigating the incident.
He also added some pictures from the visit, saying, “Today, I visited the families of two persons who were allegedly killed while exercising their franchise at their polling units during Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
“The victims include the late Festus Idahosa, 33 years old, and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Owie, a 43-year-old mother of three. It’s sad that this sort of electoral violence still happens at this stage of our development.
“We condole with the families of the deceased persons. The police have already commenced investigation to bring the perpetrators of the evil acts to justice.”
