The Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, revealed it has arraigned two suspects, identified as Rawa Aisami, and Sadiq Maina before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri the Capital city of Borno state for N2.9m fraud.
The anti graft agency revealed this in a statement issued out on Twitter page on Tuesday.
According to the post shared, Aisami was charged with two-count bordering on criminal breach of trust to the tune of N1,450,000.00, and Maina was charged with a one-count of criminal misappropriation to the tune of N1,575,303.00.

The duo, who are charged with separate charges bordering on criminal breach of trust and misappropriation, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The charges read,
“That you, Rawa Gana Aisami, sometime in 2015 at Maiduguri, Borno State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, dishonestly induced Goni Adam Mu’azu to deliver to you the sum of N1,450,000.00 only, as payment for the purchase of farmland at Jere Local Government Area of Borno State, and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 320 (a) of the Borno State Penal Code Law Cap. 102 and punishable under section 322 of the same Law.
“That you, Sadiq Bulama Maina on or about 3rd May 2020 in Maiduguri, Borno State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly misappropriated the aggregate sum of N1,575,303.00 belonging to Alhaji Atom Dala for the supply of food items which you converted to your personal use without his consent thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 308 and punishable under section 309 of the Penal Code Law of Borno State Cap. 102 Vol.3 of 1994 respectively.”
EFCC prosecution counsel, known as S.O Saka asked the court for trial dates and to remand the defendants in prison.
Justice Kumaliya further adjourned the cases until 27th of July, 2023, for the commencement of trial and remanded the defendants at the Maiduguri Correctional Centre.
