Barely three days after Barr. Asue Ighodalo announced his intention to run for governor at the PDP Secretariat in Benin City, a trailer struck his personal vehicle on Saturday night.
The trailer, which had no registered plate number, crashed into Barr. Ighodalo’s vehicle on Sapele Road, seriously damaging it.
The trailer sped off into a nearby street rather than stopping. Unfortunately, the getaway driver’s luck did not hold out as he collided with a motorcycle, damaging and completely wrecking his trailer.
The driver abandoned his car and tried to blend into the small group of back streets around it, but was caught by onlookers.
Barr. Ighodalo, who had previously attended the funeral of Ogbeide Ifaluyi-Isibor, the Commissioner for Digital Economy, Science, and Technology, was fortunately unharmed.
The driver and the unlicensed trailer have been taken into custody by the police, who are also looking into the circumstances behind the collision. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
