The UAE has been completely destroyed by unprecedented rains, resulting in widespread floods and a substantial number of deaths.
Dubai recorded a record 6.26 inches (159 mm) of rainfall in the last 24 hours, significantly more than its yearly normal of 3.73 inches (94.7 mm).
Major roads were totally submerged as a result of this extreme weather, which also prompted planes at Dubai International Airport to be diverted.
The situation is just as bad in Oman, where Marmul Airport recorded 14.18 inches (360.2 mm) of rain in two days, which is responsible for at least eighteen deaths—ten of them schoolchildren—and at least 18 injuries.
More rain is expected, which will only increase the likelihood of more disruptions, fatalities, and property damage in the area. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
