Nigerian Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has downplayed the chances of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, becoming the running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 elections.
In a post on Sunday via X (formerly Twitter), Adeyanju remarked that Obi should be thankful if such an opportunity ever comes his way, asserting that the North currently controls opposition politics while President Bola Tinubu dominates the South.
He further expressed confidence that,
‘Tinubu would likely win a second term in 2027, arguing that opposition parties have failed to learn from recent political events, including the Edo State elections.’
