Davido Bows To Pressure, Takes Down Logos Olori Video Amidst Backlash From Muslim Devotees

Nigerian music sensation, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has taken a bold step in response to the mounting criticism over a music video posted by his signee, Logos Olori. The 45-second video, which sparked a wave of negative feedback, has now been deleted by the artist.

The video, shared on Saturday, featured several men clad in white jalabias and caps, dancing in front of a mosque. Adding to the controversy, Logos Olori was seen sitting on a speaker mounted on the roof of the building.

The use of the term “Alhamdulillah” (praise be to God) in the song further escalated the situation, drawing condemnation, especially from Muslim fans.

Davido, who initially introduced Logos Olori’s new single, “Jaye Lo,” in the now-deleted Instagram post, faced severe backlash from the Muslim community on various social media platforms.

Accusations were hurled at the music star, with many expressing their displeasure over what they perceived as a disregard for Islamic traditions and the mixing of religious rites with song and dance.

In light of the growing criticism and concerns raised by fans, particularly Muslims, Davido decided to remove the contentious video from his online platforms. The move came as an effort to address the sensitivities surrounding the issue and to avoid further stoking tensions.

The incident has sparked discussions about the importance of cultural and religious sensitivity in the entertainment industry. As an influential figure, Davido’s actions and artistic choices can have a significant impact, and the recent events have highlighted the need for artists to be mindful of their content’s potential implications.

While the controversial video may have been taken down, the debate surrounding cultural and religious representation in music and media is likely to continue. (CONTINUE READING HERE)
