In the latest transfer news, Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea has turned down an enticing offer from Inter Milan.
The Italian club was considering him as a replacement for André Onana, but the Manchester United shot-stopper had other plans in mind.
According to sources, De Gea is aiming to secure a substantial after-tax salary of €10 million. Inter Milan’s proposal fell short of his expectations, offering an annual wage of €5 million, which he promptly rejected. It seems the financial aspect of the deal did not meet his requirements.
While De Gea’s preference lies in returning to La Liga, where he previously played for Atletico Madrid, other potential options are also being considered. One such option is a move to Saudi Arabia, which might be more feasible if he remains firm on his wage demands.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper has been a prominent figure in Manchester United’s squad for many years. However, with the rise of Dean Henderson as a strong contender for the starting spot, De Gea’s future at the English club has been a subject of speculation.
