Nigerian cross-dresser Bobrisky has filed an appeal against the Federal High Court of Lagos’s decision to condemn him of financial wrongdoing.
The convicted crossdresser asked the appellate court to reverse the six-month prison sentence he received in his appeal.
Bobrisky argues in his appeal, filed by his lawyer Deji Adeyanju, that the trial judge committed a legal and factual error when he sentenced the appellant to the maximum number of months in prison without offering the option of a fine, in violation of Section 416(2)d of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act of 2015 (“ADCJA”), which lays out the requirements for the trial court to follow when imposing sentencing after a first-time offender, such as the appellant.
