Costume Day Controversy: Adamawa Police Probe Misuse of Uniforms

The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation following viral images of students wearing police and military uniforms during a recent Costume Day celebration.

In an official statement released on August 22, 2025, the Command described the act as “unauthorized” and “criminal,” condemning the behavior as indecent and damaging to the image of the Nigerian Police.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Commissioner of Police, CP Morris Dankombo PSC(+), has ordered a full investigation into the incident to identify and prosecute those involved.

The Command also issued a strong warning to individuals, groups, and institutions against the unauthorized use of security uniforms, stressing that such actions undermine public trust and violate existing laws.
