Residents of Ibadan, Oyo state are devastated after explosion rock a popular mall and other buildings in the area.
A resident of the area who is a witness stated that the explosion occured beside Ventura Mall, Sango Ojoo Road, Ibadan.
The witness said the explosion which affected Bodija, University of Ibadan and Akobo, also caused the total collapse of popular Ace mall.
Another witness identified as Adeyimi Fatimou said, “There is a blast at bodija estate at the back of bodija housing estate central mosque at Deji Oyelese Street, Adeyi avenue. Close to Ace mall so the blast 0affect some part of ace mall and some building are collapsed. At the moment we don’t know the cause of the blast.”
The cause of the explosion cannot be confirmed at the time of this report but residents of the area has ruled out the possibility of a bomb explosion, insisting that it was a gas explosion.
