The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has been added to Russia’s list of wanted individuals.
According to TASS, the Russian Interior Ministry database indicated that Zelenskyy was listed as wanted; however, no additional information was provided, Daily Post reports.
Zelenskyy was the subject of a criminal case opened by Russia.
Ukraine rejected the report, labeling it as proof of Moscow’s “desperation”.
According to Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, a warrant from the International Criminal Court could result in Russian President Vladimir Putin being arrested.
According to the statement, “We would like to remind you that unlike the worthless Russian announcements, an International Criminal Court warrant for the arrest of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on suspicion of war crimes is quite real, and subject to implementation in 123 countries.”
The ministry stated that the Russian announcement demonstrated “evidence of the desperation of the Russian state machine and propaganda, which can think of no other way to attract attention”.
A number of Ukrainian and European politicians had warrants issued for their arrest by Russia in February 2022.
In February, the Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Lithuanian Culture Minister, and former Latvian parliamentarians were added to a wanted list by Russian law enforcement for their alleged involvement in demolishing Soviet-era monuments. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
