Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), has resigned from his position. This follows a meeting he was summoned to with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.
The resignation comes amid serious allegations of economic sabotage and corruption leveled against the NMDPRA’s leadership. The summons and subsequent resignation mark a significant development in the administration’s handling of these high-profile accusations.
