Authorities in North Augusta have initiated an investigation into the tragic death of a 23-year-old woman, whose lifeless body was discovered behind a storage building in the area. The incident has prompted the involvement of the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
The Aiken County Coroner, Darryl Ables, confirmed that the body of Destany Hazel was found on Tuesday morning at approximately 10:15 a.m. The grim discovery occurred behind a storage building situated at a residence in the 100 block of Womrath Road in North Augusta.
To determine the cause of Destany Hazel’s untimely demise, an autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday morning in Newberry. This examination will shed light on the circumstances surrounding her death and aid the ongoing investigation.
As the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office work collaboratively on this case, details surrounding the incident remain limited.
