Bodies of Two Minor Siblings Found Inside Wooden Box In Jamia Nagar

Panic and shock engulfed the Jamia Nagar area of southeast Delhi as the bodies of two minor siblings were discovered inside an old wooden box in their house on Tuesday. The incident occurred in Batla House, following the report of two missing children, aged 6 and 8 years.

The authorities received a distress call at the Jamia Nagar police station, notifying them that two bodies of children had been found at house No. F2, Joga Bai extension. The children resided in the house with their father, Balbir, who works as a guard (Chowkidar) on the property, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

After a local inquiry, it was revealed that the deceased children had lunch with their parents at 3 pm and went missing around 3.30 pm. Concerned parents and other children in the vicinity initiated a search, and tragically, they discovered the lifeless bodies inside the wooden box.

A preliminary investigation by the crime team indicated that there were no visible injury marks on the children’s bodies, suggesting a case of accidental asphyxia. This finding led to the speculation that the two children inadvertently became trapped inside the wooden box while playing, which resulted in suffocation and their subsequent deaths.

MLA Amanatullah Khan expressed his condolences and shared his belief that the children’s deaths were a tragic accident. He surmised that while engrossed in play, the two youngsters accidentally got trapped inside the wooden box, leading to their suffocation.

However, to determine the exact cause of death, authorities await the postmortem report, which will provide conclusive evidence and shed light on the circumstances surrounding this devastating incident. The police and concerned authorities are working diligently to gather all the necessary information and ensure a thorough investigation into the matter.
