Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for conferring on him the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
The honour, announced during the joint session of the National Assembly as part of the Democracy Day celebrations, was in recognition of his contributions to the June 12 pro-democracy movement and the restoration of democratic governance in Nigeria.
In a terse statement on his X handle, Onanuga wrote:
“Thank you, Mr. President, for the national honours for me and many of my colleagues, who ‘braved the odds and the guns’ to enthrone democracy and fight for the de-annulment of the June 12 election result. “
