Suspected armed bandits have killed three individuals and kidnapped a Catholic priest along with at least ten others during a new attack on the Karku community in Kaduna State.
The assault took place in the early hours of Saturday, around 3:20 a.m., targeting the residence of Reverend Father Nathaniel Asuwaye. He is the parish priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Karku, under the jurisdiction of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan.
The Chancellor of the Diocese, Reverend Father Jacob Shanet, confirmed the incident. He stated the attackers, described by locals as terrorists, arrived in a coordinated manner and overwhelmed the community. Father Shanet identified the three slain residents as Mr. Jacob Dan’azumi, Mr. Maitala Kaura, and Alhaji Kusari.
