Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has held a high-stakes meeting with other prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
The meeting, held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, is sparking speculation about a significant political realignment in preparation for Nigeria’s 2027 general election.
Among those in attendance are former Senate President David Mark; ex-Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido; former PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus; former Niger Governor Babangida Aliyu; former Ebonyi Governor Sam Egwu; former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal; and former Cross River Governor Liyel Imoke.
The coalition is yet to confirm or deny widespread rumours of a move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
This comes amidst growing speculation that both Atiku and Mark, notably absent from recent public PDP events, are exploring two political parties, the ADA or the ADC, as potential platforms for an anti-Tinubu coalition in 2027.
