Lydia Simon, another Chibok girl, was rescued by the soldiers of North East Operation Hadin Kai, Operstion Desert Sanity III.
The 82 Division Task Force Battalion in Ngoza LGA performed a successful rescue of her and her three children on Wednesday, April 17, 2024,.
It was learned that Lydia, one of the abducted girls with serial number 68, broke out from Ali Ngulde’s camp on Mandara Mountain, where she had been imprisoned for a number of years.
She turned herself in to the 82 Division Task Force Battalion’s soldiers at Ngoshe in Gwoza LGA. The Chibok girl who had been rescued claimed to be from Pemi Town in Chibok and was five months pregnant.
The 10th anniversary of the 276 girls who were violently abducted by Boko Haram extremists from Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, occurred on April 14.
Although sixteen of the girls were eventually rescued and 107 were at various points released through negotiations, 57 of the girls managed to flee from their captors in the days that followed.
The Nigerian Army, the state, and the federal government have all vowed to work together to free the remaining kidnapped girls who are being held captive by terrorists. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
