The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arraigned two suspects, Alhaji Kolo Ngwari and Mele Isma’il, before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri, the capital city for land racketeering.
The anti-graft commission made this known in a statement released via its Twitter page on Tuesday.
The commission revealed that the culprits were arraigned on four count charges bordering on cheating and criminal breach of trust to the tune of over N1.6Million.
The statement read, “The Maiduguri Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, April 3, 2023, arraigned the duo of Alhaji Kolo Ngwari and Mele Isma’il before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri, on four counts of cheating and criminal breach of trust to the tune of N1, 650,000.00 (One Million Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira)”
