Senate leader Godswill Akpabio, after reports of fainting at his 61st birthday event, explained on Friday that he felt drained and was diagnosed with malaria.
Freshreporters News reports that Akpabio collapsed after seeing President Tinubu off at the Transcorp Hilton and was taken to the hospital.
Speaking to journalists at the Senate, Akpabio, avoiding confirming whether he fainted, admitted to having malaria, made worse by stress.
“It was just a human moment after the event. I went home, called my doctor, and learned I had malaria mixed with stress, which could simply mean exhaustion,” he said.
“Anyone can get worn out. Please, drink plenty of water daily to avoid exhaustion.”
He reassured Nigerians that the National Assembly is functioning smoothly and continues its work, including the budget appropriation process.
“We’ll be back on December 20th. Before then, all committees must finish their tasks so we hit the target of passing the budget before year-end for the president’s approval.“…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>
