Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised the attendance of Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, at the wedding Fatiha of Deputy Senate President Abdullahi Barau Jibrin’s son. Akpabio referred to it as a symbol of a “united Nigeria.”
Speaking after the wedding ceremony in Kano, Akpabio noted that the presence of distinguished personalities at the event showcased Barau’s popularity and connection with the people.
He remarked, “You can see that even the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his people are here; this tells you that Nigeria will remain united as one entity.”
Notably, Vice-President Kashim Shetima represented the groom at the event and was accompanied by prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
