Agboola Ajayi, a former deputy governor of Ondo State, has secured the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidacy for the Sunshine State governorship on November 16, 2024.
Ajayi defeated six other candidates to get the PDP ticket. Ajayi served as deputy governor during the first term of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The International Culture and Events Centre in Akure hosted the indirect primary on Thursday, with Ajayi being proclaimed the winner.
Bosun Arebuwa, Adeolu Akinwumi, Sola Ebiseeni, John Mafo, Kolade Akinjo, and Bamidele Akingboye were all defeated by Ajayi.
