Adamawa Gov’t Denies Distributing Expîred Food Items to Flôod Victims

The Adamawa State Government has refuted claims circulating on social media that expired food items were shared with victims of last month’s devastating flood in Yola South Local Government Area.

Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Celine Laori, described the allegations as “malicious” and “politically motivated,” accusing opposition elements of attempting to tarnish the image of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.

Laori maintained that the food distributed last Saturday at Mustapha College was safe and fit for consumption, stressing that as a medical doctor, she would never approve the release of expired items to the public.

She highlighted the administration’s record of inclusiveness and infrastructural achievements across the 21 local government areas, noting that no previous government in the state’s democratic history has matched its performance.

The deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, had on the day of the distribution, provided assorted foodstuffs to over 4,000 flood-affected households.

She assured residents that the Fintiri administration would sustain its humanitarian efforts to help victims recover and resume their normal livelihoods.
