At the 17th Headies Awards on Sunday night, actress Annie Macaulay publicly confirmed her divorce from music super star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.
While co-presenting the award for Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year with Farooq Oreagba, the celebrated “King of Steeze” from the 2024 Ojude Oba festival, Annie subtly but clearly reclaimed her maiden name.
Introducing herself on stage, she stumbled briefly: “Annie Idi… Oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!” she said, drawing loud cheers from the audience.
The confirmation follows signs earlier in March, when Annie returned to social media after a two-month break, notably dropping “Idibia” and signing off as “Annie Uwana Macaulay” on Instagram.
Annie and 2Baba, who share two children, officially separated in January 2025 when the singer publicly announced their split.
Since then, 2Baba has proposed to his new fiancée, Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, and introduced her to his family and kinsmen in Benue State, fueling speculation about an upcoming wedding. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
