Urum Kalu Eke, an Abia State resident, was nominated to join the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Board of Directors, however he declined the position.
Meanwhile, the Senate on Thursday approved the nomination of four additional members to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Board of Directors, which was sent to it by President Bola Tinubu.
Robert Agbede, Ado Yakubu Wanka, Mrs. Muslimat Olanike Aliyu, and Professor Murtala Sabo Sagagi were confirmed.
The approval came after the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions Chairman, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru of the APC, Lagos East, reviewed a report on the nominee’s screening.
consider the report of on the confirmation of the nomination of the following Five (5) persons as members of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria in accordance with section 6(1), (2) (d) and 10 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.”
