The social media team of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has put together a list and photos of the top ten stadiums for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.

Topping the list in terms of seating capacity is the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers, the home ground of Rivers United, with a substantial 38,000 seating capacity.

According to the NPFL rankings, this stadium secures the sixth position for the 2023-2024 season and stands out as one of the few in the league with a natural turf.

Another notable stadium with a natural playing surface is the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, the home ground for Akwa United, which holds the coveted title of the best stadium in the NPFL.

Other stadiums featured include the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Edo state, used by Bendel Insurance, and the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo state, home to Shooting Stars.

Here’s a rundown of the top ten stadiums for the 2023-2024 NPFL season:

  1. Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo: With a seating capacity of 30,000 and a natural turf, it’s the fortress of Akwa United FC.

2. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin: This stadium accommodates 12,000 spectators and boasts a natural playing surface, serving as the home ground for Bendel Insurance FC.

3. Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan: With a seating capacity of 10,000 and a natural turf, it’s where Shooting Stars FC calls home.

4. Mobolaji Johnson Arena Lagos (formerly known as Onikan Stadium): This 10,000-capacity stadium features an artificial turf and hosts Sporting Lagos FC.

5. Remo Stars Stadium Ikenne, Ogun state: A 5,000-seat arena with an artificial turf, it’s where Remo Stars FC plays.

6. Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt: The stadium with a remarkable 38,000 seating capacity and a natural turf, is the proud home of Rivers United.

7. Muhammadu Dikko Stadium Katsina: Boasting a seating capacity of 35,000 and an artificial turf, it’s where Katsina United FC competes.

8. Sani Abacha Stadium Kano: With a 16,000-seat capacity and an artificial turf, it’s the fortress of Kano Pillars FC.

9. Enyimba International Stadium Aba: This stadium can accommodate 16,000 spectators and features an artificial turf, hosting Enyimba FC.
