41-year-old Security Guard, Remanded For Defiling Lover’s 12-year-old Daughter In Lagos

Chief Magistrate Bola Osunsanmi of Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, ordered the remand of a security guard, Nnamdi Dike, of age 41, for the alleged defilement of his lover’s 12-year-old daughter in Lagos State.

The 41-years-old Dike, who lives in Akute, Ogun State, is being charged with sexual assault which contravened section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

During court proceedings, the prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in November 2022 at No. 37, Shogbade Street, around the Power Line area of Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos.

ASP Akeem stated that the victim confided in her teacher how the defendant, being her mother’s lover, allegedly sexually molested her.

“The defendant usually molested the victim whenever her mother was not at home and would threaten to kill her if she told anyone.

“The teacher, however, informed the victim’s mother, who reported the case at the police station,” Akeem added.

Chief Magistrate Osunsanmi, who refused to take the defendant‘s plea, ordered his remand in Kirikiri Correctional Center pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Osunsanmi further adjourned the matter until 26th of June, 2023.
