30-year-old Man Found Hanged In His Room In Jigawa

Usman Sani Goga, a talented photographer was found hanged in his bedroom on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa state.

The 30-year-old resident of Akula Quarters shocked his family, friends, and the entire community with his sudden demise.

The distressing discovery was made by his wife, who arrived home after a visit to her relatives. Recounting the events leading up to the heartbreaking moment, she revealed that Usman had dropped her off at a relative’s house around 2:00 p.m. that day, assuring her that he would pick her up later in the evening. Concerned when he did not answer her calls around 5:00 p.m., she decided to return home by taking a commercial vehicle.

Upon arriving at their residence, she realized she did not have the house keys and attempted to contact Usman once again. Alas, her calls went unanswered. Seeking assistance, she asked a motorcyclist to help her jump over the wall and unlock the main entrance from inside.

As she entered, she was greeted by the sight of her husband’s parked motorcycle, which struck her as unusual. With growing unease, she hurried to their bedroom, only to discover Usman’s lifeless body hanging from a ceiling fan hook.

Overwhelmed by the horrifying sight, she fainted, and it was the motorcyclist who raised the alarm, summoning neighbors to the scene. The body was promptly untied and taken to the hospital, where a medical practitioner pronounced Usman dead on arrival.

Adamu Shehu, the spokesperson of NSCDC state command, provided preliminary details of the investigation into the incident.

It was revealed that a bedside drawer was used to gain access to the ceiling, where the hook was fixed. A rope was then tied to the hook, and the bedside drawer was pushed off, possibly using the legs, to suspend Usman’s body.

While the specific details surrounding Usman’s actions remain unclear at this time, close associates have disclosed that he had a sporadic history of mental health issues. Despite his struggles, he had recently married his wife, and they were reportedly leading a happy life together. The investigation is currently ongoing to shed light on the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
