2023: Wike Slams Atiku, PDP, Gives Instruction To Rivers People On How To Vote

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has urged his supporters in the state to use their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) to counter those who are against their interests in the upcoming elections.

Wike specifically directed his supporters to focus on securing victory for the PDP in the gubernatorial, state, and national assembly elections and disregard the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Wike defended his stance on the national chairmanship position of the PDP, stating that it is only fair for the position to go to the south since the party’s presidential ticket has been given to the north.

During the PDP campaign flag-off rally held in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State on Thursday, the Governor questioned whether his opponents were capable of harming him and implored his supporters to protect him from any threats.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has told supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to use their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) to pepper those against their interests in the forthcoming elections.
Wike instructed the people to concentrate on winning the governorship, state, and national assembly elections for the PDP and ignore the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The Governor said he has done nothing wrong by insisting the national chairmanship position of the PDP should come to the south since the party’s presidential ticket has gone to the north.

Speaking on Thursday at the PDP campaign flag-off rally at Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike queried if those against him can kill him and also charged the people with protecting him from getting killed.

He said: “You know PDP in Rivers State is the only party. I don’t know what they are doing in Abuja. But we, we are members of PDP Rivers State and we will do what is good for the interest of Rivers State.

“Anybody who has no interest about Rivers State, we too, we will not have his interest. In politics, if you do for me, I’ll do for you. If you love me, I love you, if you fall for me, I will fall for you.”

The Rivers State Governor, still made it clear once again that it is still the right decision to not vote for the PDP candidate, Atiku, due to recent events within the PDP and the failure of the national leadership to address their demands.

“But, what did I really do that they want to kill me? I only insisted that since the north has produced the presidential candidate, the national chairmanship slot should come to the south. This is on the principle of life and let’s live. Did I do it wrongly?

“Can they kill me? Will you allow them to kill me? Will you protect me? So, we will defend our votes. You’ll stay there and make sure you’ll vote for our candidates. Then, we will use our Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to pepper them,” he instructed.
