The United States of America, USA on Wednesday congratulated Nigeria on the election that was held on Saturday, 25th of February, 2023 ushering in the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as winner.
US also called for calm amid accusations of voter fraud and concerns over technical glitches that was noted in the course of the general elections.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared the winner of the February 25 polls in Africa’s most populous democracy.
Ned Price, who is the state department spokesman a statement said, “The United States congratulates the people of Nigeria, president-elect Tinubu and all the political leaders,”
“This competitive election represents a new period for Nigerian politics and democracy,” he added.
