151 senior police officers face force disciplinary hearing

About 151 senior police officers are appearing before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

This disciplinary exercise, which began on Monday, July 14, 2025, and will run until Friday, July 25, 2025, addresses various pending disciplinary matters.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Wednesday, July 16, thr Force Disciplinary Committee serves as a vital internal mechanism responsible for reviewing and adjudicating alleged breaches of professional conduct, misconduct, and ethical violations by senior officers, ranging from Assistant Superintendent of Police and above.

These officers, drawn from commands and formations nationwide, will undergo a thorough and transparent review process. The statement also revealed that the process aligns with existing police regulations and disciplinary procedures and will result in a final recommendation to the Police Service Commission.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to discipline and ethical conduct within the Force.

He stressed that the Nigeria Police Force will not tolerate any form of indiscipline or misconduct.
