12m households to receive N8,000 for six months to alleviate the economic burden caused by the removal of fuel subsidy, according to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The President made this announcement in a letter addressed to the House of Representatives, which was read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas during plenary.
President Tinubu explained that the financial support is aimed at helping poor and vulnerable Nigerians cope with basic needs.
The funds will be digitally transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ accounts to ensure transparency and credibility in the process.
This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on approximately 60 million individuals.
