The Kano State Emirate Council Law 2024, which was approved by the state House of Assembly on Thursday, May 23, has ordered the Emirs to leave their palaces within the next 48 hours, according to Kano state governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Subsequently, Yusuf reinstated Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi as the Emir of Kano.
Those affected by the directive are five emirs who were installed by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje-led administration.
The previous governor had established four new emirates, dividing the Kano Emirate.
Karaye, Gaya, Bichi, and Rano were the appointed Emirates.
