World Cup Star, Linda Caicedo, Grabs Her Chest And Collapses At Training Before Being Rushed To Hospital (Video)

Linda Caicedo, the breakout star of the Women’s World Cup, may not be able to feature again in the tournament after a distressing incident during training.

The 18-year-old Colombian collapsed on the field in distressing scenes that were captured on video at the team’s base in Sydney.

Upon the sudden collapse, medics and terrified teammates rushed to her aid, and she remained unconscious for at least 90 seconds before being rushed to the hospital.

Fortunately, Caicedo later regained consciousness, but she is unlikely to participate in Colombia’s upcoming match against Germany on Sunday.

The troubling footage shows Caicedo jogging with her teammates before suddenly clutching her chest and falling to the ground. Concerned players gathered around her, and a member of the training staff quickly arrived at the scene, followed by other team staffers with medical assistance.

A representative from the Colombian Football Association’s medical staff reported that Linda Caicedo is “very tired” but has returned to a normal state after the incident. The official attributed the collapse to the stress and physical demands of participating in a high-pressure event like the World Cup.

Linda Caicedo’s journey to become a World Cup star has been fraught with adversity. At the young age of 15, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which threatened to shatter her football dreams. Despite the challenges, she persevered through surgery and six months of chemotherapy, making an incredible comeback to football.
