Woman Arrested For Attempted Baby Theft In Lagos Hospital Linked To Money Ritual

In a shocking incident, the Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 49-year-old woman for allegedly attempting to steal a day-old baby from a hospital in the Ojokoro area of the state. The arrest was made on Friday, June 23, and has left the community in disbelief.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin of the state police command, the Ojokoro Police Division received a tip-off about the suspect’s suspicious activities at the hospital. The woman had entered the hospital premises disguised as a patient but had ulterior motives in mind.

The suspect managed to enter the female ward undetected, taking advantage of the mother’s post-surgery sleep. Seizing the opportunity, she snatched a day-old baby boy. Fortunately, another vigilant patient noticed the suspect’s swift movements and immediately alerted the hospital authorities. Consequently, the suspect was swiftly apprehended.

During the subsequent interrogation, it was revealed that the suspect hailed from Oyo State. Shockingly, she confessed that she had been contracted by an individual known as “Alfa” to procure a day-old baby for the purpose of conducting a money ritual. The disturbing motive behind the crime has sent shockwaves throughout the community.

Further investigation conducted by the police exposed that this was not the suspect’s first act of child theft. She had previously engaged in similar criminal activities, highlighting the gravity of her actions.

The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that the suspect will face the full extent of the law. Once the investigation is completed, she will be arraigned in court to answer for her heinous crimes. Meanwhile, the stolen baby has been safely returned to his mother, bringing relief to the distressed family.
