Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has intensified his criticism of former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal, questioning his credibility as a leader in the newly formed opposition coalition.
Wike mocked Tambuwal’s political track record, pointing out that despite holding high offices—including Speaker of the House of Representatives and Sokoto governor—he failed to deliver tangible results for Nigerians. “You spent years in power, yet you’re now claiming to ‘rescue’ Nigeria? Where was this energy when you had the chance to make a difference?” Wike quipped, dismissing the coalition as a gathering of “failed politicians” recycling old rhetoric.
“Tambuwal, you were the Speaker for four years; what did you do to prevent Nigerians from being angry? You were the governor of Sokoto State for eight years; the people of Sokoto were happy, yet they refused to elect the person you endorsed” Wike said
The FCT minister further accused Tambuwal and other coalition members of hypocrisy, noting that they only decry Nigeria’s challenges now that they’re out of power.
“When they were in government, Nigerians were ‘happy,’ but suddenly, under Tinubu, everyone is angry?” Wike scoffed, referencing Tambuwal’s inability to secure his anointed successor’s victory in Sokoto as proof of his waning influence.
He concluded that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains the only viable opposition, provided it unites—a jab at the ADC coalition’s legitimacy. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
