Heavily armed men have abd¥cted the wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, from her residence in the Arepo area of Ogun State.
The attackers, described as masked and heavily armed, reportedly fir£d sporadically during the abd¥ction. According to reports, the victim was taken while attempting to enter her home.
The assailants dr+gged her from her Lexus Jeep and transported her through swampy terrain to an unknown location.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, stating that the command acted swiftly by deploying operatives to ensure her release.
“Information was received regarding the k+dnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, a female resident of Aminu Street, Arepo, Ogun State,” Odutola said.
“Efforts are underway, involving local security forces in the riverine areas, including Baale Warewa and Baale Maaba, to assist in the rescue.”
She further noted that the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has been briefed, and covert operations and digital intelligence are being utilized to ensure the victim is rescued unharmed.
