Why I Will Not Wish My Enèmy to Do Banking Job After My Experience

A retired banker wrote,

One of the Jobs I did and swore never to do it again is Banking job.

A very Risky and fragile job. You wake up by 4a.m or 5 a.m and start getting ready for work. The bank opens by 8a.m but you must be at work on or before 7a.m for Morning meetings and training. Is it the target? There is nobody you see working in the bank that does not have a target. If you now find yourself in the marketing section, you will never sleep well till you leave the job.

It’s in marketing that one person will be given a target of 100 New to Bank accounts, 5 million deposit, and Product per customer wahala.

When I say Product Per Customer, I mean, you must give that new customer an ATM card, mobile banking or Agency banking. This is what you are expected to do EVERY month. If you fail to meet up this month, it will be rolled over to the next month as a variance.

You are automatically owing the bank and must make sure you meet up else it will affect your performance and chances of getting a promotion.

The worst thing that can happen to you is to work as a contract banker. If you know the game of chess very well, contract bankers are the pawns in the bank. They are pushed to the war front with little or no recognition. As a contract banker, the bank staff will always LOOK down at you. Sometimes they see you as a secondary school leaver.

In some banks, you will easily get converted which gives you a chance to thrive in banking but in most banks, you may work 10 years without getting converted. They will sit on your conversation by saying you are not meeting up with your target.

It’s in a banking job that a customer will come, insult you for the rule you did not make and you won’t utter a word to avoid queries. In this job, every query given to you is being recorded therefore you must be careful.

In fact, This job will not give you time for yourself, family and friends. It demands a lot. I like the fact that I got so much experience from Banking but don’t wish to work as a banker again in my LIFE. Me as a banker that year. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
