Why I Waited Until I Had Money to Approach My Fiancée Simi – Femi Dapson

Nigerian video director Femi Dapson has opened up about how financial insecurity once held him back from pursuing a relationship with his fiancée, media personality Simi Sanya.

Speaking during a special conversation titled The Love and Money Conversation hosted by Meristem Nigeria, Dapson revealed that there was a time he deliberately avoided approaching women because he didn’t feel financially confident.

“I know money is important in a relationship, that’s why I didn’t approach Simi till I started making money,” he admitted.

He disclosed that he first met Simi while he was still driving a Havalon car and didn’t have the courage to speak to her. “The first time I met Simi I was still driving one Havalon like that but I didn’t talk to her. But the second time I saw her at a wedding in Akure, I was already making money so that was when I was able to talk to her,” he explained.

Describing himself as a natural “gifter,” Dapson acknowledged that while love is beautiful, it becomes even more fulfilling when supported by financial stability underscoring the key role money played in the start of his love story.
