Nigeria Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to depart Abuja for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Friday, 13th of December, 2024, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration and naming ceremony of a $315 million oil production and storage facility.
The facility, fully owned by Nigerian oil and gas company Oriental Energy Limited, will be inaugurated on 14th of December 2024, according to the presidency.
Following the ceremony in Dubai, Shettima will also travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, the Lesser Hajj, in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah from December 16 to 19, 2024.
This was made known in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of The Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, on Friday, 13th of December 2024.
The statement partly reads:
“Vice President Kashim Shettima will depart Abuja on Friday, December 13, 2024, for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the commissioning and naming of a $315 million oil production and storage facility.
“The facility, a fully Nigerian-owned oil and gas company acquired by Oriental Energy Limited #orientalerl, is scheduled for commissioning on December 14, 2024.
“After the event in Dubai, the Vice President will proceed to Saudi Arabia where he will perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah from December 16 to 19, 2024.
“On December 20, 2024, Vice President Shettima is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah.
“Discussions will focus on co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) #SAPZNigeria and enhanced coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria, aimed at bolstering the nation’s agricultural and economic development.
