Nigeria Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived London to claim the body of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari who died after a prolonged struggle with blood cancer.
The news of his death came as a shock on 13th of July 2025 after his spokesman Garba Shehu took to his handle to announce his death.
Following his death, President Tinubu had instructed his vice president, shettima to take a trip to London to claim his body. Upon arrival, Shettima announced that;,
“Early this morning, I arrived in London in the company of the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on the directive of my boss, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
I was received on arrival by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, and the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum.
I will accompany the remains of the former President to Nigeria for burial in Daura, Katsina State.
