United States Los Angeles Elects First Woman Mayor

The Residents of United States of America, USA Los Angeles have elected Karen Bass as mayor, vote projections indicated on Wednesday, making her the first woman to head America’s second biggest city.

The Lifelong Democrat Bass, who is also Black American and a longtime US congresswoman, beat an immensely well-funded challenge from former Republican property developer Rick Caruso, who spent an eye-watering $100 million of his own money on the mayor race in Los Angeles.

However, according to a tally released on Wednesday, almost three-quarters of the vote counted, Bass had a lead of around 46,500, which locally a media dubbed “insurmountable.”

Meanwhile, the counting continues and election officials are set to certify the poll results on the 5th of December, 2022.
