The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos have announced closure on Thursday, 9th of January 2025.
The Embassy’s closure is in honor of former President Carter’s passing.
This was disclosed in a statement shared on X handle by the United States Mission in Nigeria, on Wednesday, 8th of January 2024.
The statement reads:
“The U.S. Embassy in Abuja and Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Thursday, January 9, 2025 in honor of former President Carter’s passing.
“We remember former President Jimmy Carter, a tireless advocate for peace, democracy, and human rights. As the first U.S. President to visit Nigeria, he strengthened U.S.-Nigeria relations and supported Nigeria’s democratic process. His legacy continues to inspire us.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
