The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the d£ath of Professor Ruth Haruna Wazis, former Head of the Department of Business Management, University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID.
She tragically passed away in an accident at her home.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Yusuf Lawal who disclosed this to the newsmen said the incident occurred on Sunday, 30th of June, 2024.
Lawal stated that the Prof. was parking her car in her garage when a sudden mechanical malfunction caused the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly, knocking her on the ground and stepping her chest.
He said that she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries before being taken to the hospital.
