Tyson Fury Reveals the One Opponent He’s Avoiding in His Final 10 Bouts

Before retiring, Tyson Fury intends to fight ten more times; however, he has no intention of taking on emerging talent Moses Itauma.

Fury will challenge Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia next month in a bid to win the undisputed heavyweight world title. After that, he anticipates facing Usyk one again in their scheduled rematch before focusing on local opponent Anthony Joshua.

Fury, meanwhile, is adamant that he won’t give up and plans to keep fighting until he is in his 40s. He shows little interest in Itauma, though, despite the fact that the man has looked terrible in each of his eight professional matches.

But Fury insists he won’t stop there – and wants to fight on until he is in his 40s. But one man he has no interest is Itauma who has looked devastating in his eight professional fights to date. Fury was asked by TNT Sports to list potential opponents for his final 10 fights but when Itauma was mentioned, he said: “No, definitely not! Do you think I’m stupid? No, no no…”

On who he could fight before he retires, Fury said: “We’ve talked about 10 more fights and that’s the aim. I’m not even 36 yet so I’ll go to 40, all these fighters go to 40. If they can line them up quickly I’ll do them. I can get the best out of me when I have two, three, four fights on the spin. If they can do it, fantastic.

“I’ll do Usyk, Usyk, AJ, AJ – if he doesn’t get beat in the meantime – so that’s four. Then I’ll do Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce, then Joseph Parker, that’s seven. Then I’ll go to America and chuck in an American, maybe Deontay Wilder for a fourth time. Maybe a European, an Agit Kabayel. Then for the 10th I’ll probably do a trilogy with Usyk.”

Fury emphasised that while facing Joshua is part of the plan for his next few fights, his fellow Briton must “keep going and keep winning”. Since being beaten twice by Usyk in 2021 and 2022, former world heavyweight champion Joshua has recorded four victories, most recently a second-round knockout win over ex-UFC fighter Francis Ngannou in Riyadh last month.
