Two persons have been reportedly shot, while one person was abducted by unidentified gunmen who attacked a branch of a bank in the Ughelli area of Delta State.
The unidentified men allegedly trailed a bank customer who was about to make a deposit and blocked him outside the bank but met with resistance from men of the Delta State Police Command.
Sharing videos, X user identified as #eonsintelligenc wrote:
“A branch of the United Bank for Africa in Ughelli, Delta State, was attacked by unidentified gunmen in a brazen daylight robbery attempt this afternoon.
“Report indicates that the assailants trailed a bank customer who was about to make a deposit and blocked him outside the bank. Within three minutes of the customer entering the bank, the gunmen began their operation.
“The robbers were met with resistance from police officers stationed at the bank, leading to a gunfight that prevented the assailants from entering the building. During the clash, two individuals were reportedly shot, and one person was abducted. The robbers escaped in a gold-coloured Toyota Venza.
